Ouro Preto

Ouro Preto is the largest and most homogeneous portuguese colonial style settlement in the world. It  was the first brazilian town to be declared a world's heritage by UNESCO. There is a well preserved colonial architecture in town with few signs of modern urban life. Churches decorated with gold and the works by Aleijadinho make Ouro Preto a popular tourist destination.
